Education and Training
Ahmed received his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in 2009 from the University of Toronto. He previously worked at St. Michael’s Hospital (Toronto, Ontario) in the Division of Neurosurgery where he developed an interest in Biomedical Engineering.

Current Research
Ahmed’s research aims to understand the relationship between different physiological signals of the brain during periods of cognitive activity. The ultimate goal of this research is the development of multimodal communication devices that will enable children with severe disabilities to lead a fuller life by communicating thoughts and expressing preference.

Other interests
During his free time, Ahmed enjoys coaching and playing soccer. He is also involved in environmental initiatives in his community and enjoys travelling and learning about new cultures.
