Andrew Myrden

MASc Candidate
Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering
Advisor : Dr. Tom Chau

Education and Training
Andrew received a B.Eng in electrical engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2009, and is currently pursuing a MASc in biomedical engineering. His professional experience includes work terms in the defence, oil and gas, and iron ore industries. Additionally, he has research experience in electromagnetic signal processing, and the applications of high-frequency radar to remote ocean sensing. However, he has chosen to focus on biomedical engineering, and, more specifically, rehabilitation engineering, in his graduate work.

Research Interests
His research interests include biomedical signal processing and the development of access pathways to allow individuals with severe disabilities to express some amount of control over their environment through unconventional means. Currently, he is focusing on the use of medical ultrasonography - particularly transcranial doppler (TCD) - as an access pathway.
