Larissa Schudlo

MASc Candidate
Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering
University of Toronto
Advisor: Dr. Tom Chau

E-mail: larissa[dot]schudlo[at]utoronto.ca

Education & Training
Larissa received a B.Eng from McMaster University in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering in 2010. She was involved in biomedical engineering research at McMaster University for two years, participating in a project exploring electrical stimulation and sensory protection techniques to preserve muscle function following nerve injuries. During her undergraduate studies, she also had the opportunity to complete a design project focused on paediatric rehabilitation, which involved designing and developing an instrumentation system to quantify range of motion of the upper limb for children recovering from peripheral nerve injury. Larissa’s studies and research helped develop her interest in rehabilitation engineering and pursuing graduate work in this area.

Other Interests
Larissa enjoys playing sports, including volleyball, hockey and badminton, as well as reading and listening to music.
