Computer Printers

Configuring the printer

  • Open the menu to add a new printer in windows
  • Specify the it is a network printer
  • Look for a line requesting for an URL to the printer (this varies depending on our windows version, but basically you just need to look for a line where you can type an URL)
  • Type this URL: http://10.191.148.93/PRISPRINT
  • Select the drivers that are the closest to the model of the printer. We have an HP laserjet 4200, but if you don’t have those, HP laserjet 4000 or 4100 will do. If you have PCL or PS variants of those drivers, select the PS option.
  • Happy printing!
  • NOTE: If you are a summer student and the printer is not configured in the computer that you are using, you will have to ask a grad student to do this configuration for you.

Setting your computer to print double-sided

  1. Open the printers section on the control panel (or that window where you can add new printers and delete your available printers).
  2. Right click the printer and select “properties”.
  3. There are several tabs at the top of that window, click the “Device settings” tab.
  4. One of the options says “Duplex printing”, you have to activate that.
  5. Now your application will allow you to print double sided (how to do that will depend on the printing window of that particular application, but the option will be there normally).
